Santos confirm Adidas kit partnership from 2028, ending Umbro era
Santos will return to Adidas in 2028 after the club confirmed a new long-term kit supply agreement with the German sportswear giant.
The deal, announced on Thursday evening, ends Santos’ partnership with Umbro, whose contract runs through the conclusion of the 2027 season. Umbro have supplied the Vila Belmiro club since 2018.
Adidas said it will begin providing Santos with sporting equipment from the 2028 campaign, marking the third spell in which the three-stripes company has made the club’s shirts.
Global retail plans behind Santos switch
Santos expect the agreement to strengthen commercial income and widen the club’s international retail presence. Adidas will produce the first-team match kits as well as training wear and lifestyle collections.
The Brazilian side become the latest Serie A club in Adidas’ domestic portfolio, alongside Flamengo, Cruzeiro and Internacional.
Santos remain one of Brazil’s most recognisable names abroad, helped by Pelé’s lasting legacy and the current involvement of high-profile players Neymar and Philippe Coutinho.
What happens next on the pitch
While the new Adidas era is still more than two years away, Santos are focused on their current league campaign. Cuca’s team stand eighth in Serie A after taking 38 points from 27 matches.
Their next three fixtures present a difficult sequence: an away match against Sao Paulo on October 2, Flamengo at home six days later, and a trip to Atletico Mineiro on October 11.
