Victor Osimhen’s Galatasaray Form Raises Fresh Premier League Transfer Questions
Victor Osimhen remains at Galatasaray, where the Nigeria forward has produced 65 goals in 78 matches, while Manchester United have moved on to Benjamin Sesko as their sole recognised central striker.

United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea have all considered a move for Osimhen at different points, but no Premier League switch has yet materialised for the striker.
Andrew Cole believes Osimhen has the tools to succeed in England, pointing to his scoring records in both Italy and Turkey. The former United striker said a deal would depend on far more than wages and a transfer valuation, with several factors potentially shaping any move. Cole added that Osimhen would be “very good” in the Premier League, although his eventual destination remains unclear.
Osimhen began his European career at Wolfsburg before finding form during a loan at Charleroi. He then impressed at Lille in 2019-20, earning his move to Napoli.
At Napoli, he became a key figure in the club’s Serie A triumph and scored 31 times during the 2022-23 season. His displays regularly put him on the radar of leading English clubs before his move to Galatasaray.
Former United players back Old Trafford move
Patrice Evra has called for United to add a reliable scorer and identified Osimhen as the ideal example of the type of forward required at Old Trafford.
Louis Saha has also argued strongly for a United approach, citing the forward’s character, quality and record across France, Italy and Turkey. Saha highlighted Osimhen’s Champions League experience and said his personality could help a United squad in need of greater leadership.
The former France international believes Osimhen showed he could handle elite pressure when he helped Napoli win their first league title in 33 years, and described him as a potential transformative signing for United.
Rio Ferdinand has likewise praised the striker, but United’s recruitment focus has shifted elsewhere, leaving Sesko as the club’s only specialist No. 9.
What happens next: Osimhen’s name could return to the Premier League conversation in a future transfer window. Arsenal, the reigning English champions, are among the clubs who could revisit a move for a proven goalscorer.
