Diablo 4 Season 15 Adds Rebirth to Transfer Your Hero Between Realms
Blizzard has unveiled a major quality-of-life change coming to Diablo 4 with Season 15: a new “Rebirth” feature that lets players move characters from the Eternal Realm into the seasonal realm—so you can keep playing the same hero across seasons instead of starting fresh every time.
Season 15 timing, test window, and platforms

Normally, characters that finish a season are automatically moved into the non-seasonal Eternal Realm, where they remain inactive until players delete them for space. Rebirth flips that flow by giving players a way to take an Eternal Realm character and convert them into a seasonal one.
How Rebirth works
When you use Rebirth, the character will be reset to level one, but Blizzard says the conversion preserves the hero’s class, name, and appearance. It also keeps the character’s chosen cosmetic preferences, including pets, transmogs, mounts, portals, and headstones.
What does reset is the gear. Any equipped items—or items stored in the character’s inventory—are lost when Rebirth is used. Blizzard will include a warning screen before the conversion completes, and players will be able to decide whether to move gear into their Eternal Realm stash before proceeding.
Other Season 15 additions
Rebirth is only one part of the update. Blizzard also confirmed that iconic items from earlier Diablo games will be introduced starting with Season 15. Examples mentioned include Diablo 2’s Stone of Jordan and Diablo 3’s Ring of Royal Grandeur.
Season 15 will also add new Overland activities, including challenge dungeons and open-world ambushes.
Finally, the season introduces a new socketable material type called Soul Splinters. Blizzard describes them as offering strong benefits, but with “potent” downsides as well—details of how they function are expected to be expanded as the season approaches.
Mythic item changes continue
Diablo 4 is currently in Season 14, which brought major changes to Mythic items but was met with largely negative player sentiment. Blizzard says some issues have already been addressed through recent updates, but more Mythic item changes are planned for Season 15, including more deterministic crafting approaches.
Blizzard is still holding back some Season 15 specifics, promising additional reveals at BlizzCon and additional playable content on the public test realm starting August 4.
