Biker Mice From Mars Returns After 20 Years With Rock and Ride Console Game
After a long quiet stretch, Biker Mice from Mars is gearing up for a return with its first brand-new console release since 2006. The upcoming title is Biker Mice from Mars: Rock and Ride, developed by Purple Play, bringing back the vibe of the beloved 90s animated series for players who grew up on the original antics.
Biker Mice from Mars first launched in 1993 as a syndicated cartoon that ran for three seasons. The story followed three daredevil rodents—Throttle, Modo, and Vinnie—who fought for freedom after surviving an invasion carried out by the Plutarkians, a fish-like alien species. The Biker Mice later escaped Mars and crash-landed in Chicago, where they discovered that some Plutarkian dangers were still present. In 1994, Konami produced the first game tie-in: a SNES racing title created to match the franchise’s early momentum.
GameStop is also highlighting a different, more practical way to get physical games and accessories, offering customers an additional delivery option for grabbing boxed titles.
Biker Mice from Mars is Coming Back
Even with the franchise’s extended absence, Biker Mice from Mars is set to receive a third game, Biker Mice from Mars: Rock and Ride. At the time of reporting, no release date has been shared. When it does arrive, it’s planned for Steam, Nintendo Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. The Nacelle Company, headquartered in Burbank, California, says this will be the first Biker Mice from Mars game in more than two decades.
The prior entry—also called Biker Mice from Mars—released on PS2 and Nintendo DS back in 2006. For Rock and Ride, Nacelle confirms the main trio of Biker Mice will be playable, with additional unlockable characters including Carbine and Scorch.
Nacelle also says players should expect arcade-style gameplay in Rock and Ride, matching the franchise’s high-energy approach. The publisher further confirmed that Purple Play Games is the development studio behind the project. Purple Play is described as a studio that helps bring games from Latin America to wider global audiences, and one of its recent releases is the 1v1 fighting game Baki Hanma: Blood Arena, based on the Baki manga series.
It’s also noted that Biker Mice from Mars: Rock and Ride could land around the same time as another Nacelle initiative, though the specific overlap hasn’t been detailed.
Looking beyond games, 2023 saw actor Ryan Reynolds and his production company, Maximum Effort, announce a collaboration with The Nacelle Company to produce a cartoon TV series. Reynolds—best known for roles such as Deadpool and Pokemon: Detective Pikachu—has also worked on adapting the 1980s arcade classic Dragon’s Lair into a television format. While the planned animated show still has no release timing announced, Biker Mice from Mars is described as introducing a fresh take on the original series.
As with the 90s cartoon, the new Biker Mice from Mars reboot is expected to center on the ongoing rivalry between the Biker Mice and the Plutarkians.

For now, it’s unclear how the upcoming Biker Mice from Mars cartoon and Nacelle’s Rock and Ride game will connect. Still, if prior projects built around 90s animated properties are any indication, Biker Mice from Mars fans can likely expect fast-paced, high-intensity action when Rock and Ride eventually launches.
