England Duo Konsa and O’Reilly Train Separately Before Czechia Trip
Ezri Konsa and Nico O’Reilly trained separately from the England squad on Monday morning as Thomas Tuchel’s side prepared to fly to Prague for their Nations League match against Czechia.
What we know
- England confirmed Konsa and O’Reilly were following individual programmes at Tottenham Hotspur’s training ground. The remaining 22 players took part in full group work.
- No medical explanation has been issued for either player’s limited involvement.
- Both Konsa and O’Reilly completed 90 minutes in England’s 3-2 Wembley defeat to Spain.
- Cole Palmer, Declan Rice, Marcus Rashford, Kobbie Mainoo and Tino Livramento have already withdrawn from the squad through injury.
- Tuchel has criticised the schedule, arguing that four games in three weeks, with Saturday-to-Tuesday turnarounds, leaves too little recovery time.
Next step in Prague
England were due to leave for the Czech Republic on Monday afternoon, with Konsa and O’Reilly’s availability for the Czechia fixture still unclear.
If Konsa cannot play, Trevoh Chalobah and Jarrad Branthwaite are options to reshape the centre of defence. O’Reilly’s absence would also leave a possible opening at left-back, where Myles Lewis-Skelly could move back from midfield. Lewis Hall is another candidate if he is fit after recent fitness issues.
