Josh Kushner Regrets Role in FIFA World Cup Rights Sale Plan
Josh Kushner has expressed regret over his involvement in Gianni Infantino’s abandoned plan to sell a stake in the commercial rights linked to the World Cup.
Kushner had been lined up as FIFA’s proposed investment partner for the project, which would have opened the door for outside capital to buy into part of football’s biggest tournament.
The plan did not go through, leaving Infantino’s proposed World Cup commercial sell-off unsuccessful. Kushner has now made clear that he wishes he had not become involved in the attempt.
What happens next
FIFA must now assess its commercial strategy without the proposed investment arrangement. No replacement partner or revised sale plan has been confirmed.
